Question: How come at the end of the movie when Cindy realizes that Doofy is the killer and she drops the coffee cup on the ground there is a fish there? I know it's a joke but I don't get it.

Question: When Judy was stung by that plant and she collapsed, I never really understood what happened. She collapsed but was she poisoned and killed or just paralyzed? Anybody have the faintest idea? That's the only bit I never understood. I thought she was shot by poisonous darts...
Answer: Since the barb was poisonous, she was dying. This is seen when she begins looking pale and a few seconds later she isn't moving. Finishing the game was the only way to save her life.
Chosen answer: She was just temporarily immobilized by the venom - it wears off after a few minutes.
No, it doesn't. Alan said the purple plants shoot poisonous barbs. After being hit, by them, Judy was slowly being poisoned to death.
Question: The lasers in the Great Hall of the building where the egg is stored are moving around. How can they reflect back from anything (like a mirror) and know if someone is blocking the beam, and make the alarm go off?

Question: At the end of this episode when Marge was imagining what life would have been like if she was a reporter, what did she mean by the "miracle on ice that never happened" and why did she scream afterwards?
Answer: The Miracle on Ice is when the 1980 USA Ice Hockey team defeated the USSR in the semifinal round and was deemed a huge upset worldwide. The reason it was a miracle is the Russian team was highly favored, having defeated the U.S. in a preliminary game by a huge margin, and this game with them was just a precursor for the Russians to get to the championship game. She screamed because now the US hasn't won.
Question: Does anyone know what they did with officer Duffy after they started cutting him open?
Answer: In the novelization, they dumped his corpse outside the police HQ.
Question: It's common knowledge that Darth Maul blinks only once in the whole film. How was Ray Park able to keep his eyes open, without blinking, for such an extended period of time?
Answer: Easy, they filmed him in short intervals. How long is the camera on him at any given time, without the camera cutting to someone else? 30 seconds at the most. Pretty much anyone can keep their eyes open for 30 seconds if they try.
Question: The mouse was deliberately put in a parcel without airholes. How did it survive?
Answer: It survived because it's funny. Just like it survived everything else the brothers tried to do to it.
Question: I was wondering what the title of the piece of music that plays in Love Actually when the little boy is running through the airport, and when Jaime asks Aurelia to marry him. I also heard in during The Aviator trailer. It's a really beautiful piece, and I've love to know the title.
Answer: I can't remember if it really is the same song, but the song that plays when he asks Aurelia to marry him is the 'Portugese Love Theme' by Craig Armstrong.
Answer: The music playing when he's running through the airport is "Prime Minister's Love Theme" by Craig Armstrong.
Question: Why is Leonard so certain that his wife didn't have diabetes?
Answer: Because if he admits that his wife was the diabetic, then that opens the door to the possibility that it was HE who killed his wife with an overdose of insulin, and not Sammy Jankis. He can't face that possibility, so he simply denies that she was ever diabetic.
Question: Why does Frank go back in time anyway, if it will result in him dying(saving Donnie) and how did HE time-travel? And why does he urge Donnie to do all those violent things?
Answer: Frank never goes back in time. In a special feature on the DVD called The Philosophy of Time Travel, there is an extensive discussion of what happens when an object slips out of the proper time continuum through randomly occurring portals. Forces exist to ensure that the object has a human guardian, whose responsibility it is to return the object to a portal in time that will send it back to the proper continuum, often sacrificing the life of the guardian. Frank, in the movie, is both a rather unimportant human figure and the adopted face of the force guiding Donnie to his destiny (returning the airplane engine) that exists outside of either time continuum and can speak to the inhabitants at will. The only thing he directly tells Donnie to do is to burn down Cunningham's house, which results in Cunningham's trial and causes Rose to take Kitty's place escorting the dance team to LA, and Rose chooses to take an earlier flight home. This is the only way the airplane engine would have been in the portal to be returned to the proper continuum. The other violent things Donnie did were merely satisfying his own issues with school, his girlfriend, and her death.
Question: When Jo and Bill seek shelter in a barn and see a lot of sharp objects, Jo asks, 'Who are this people?' and Bill replies, 'I don't think so!' Is there supposed to be some meaning to this?
Answer: No double meanings. Jo just sees the lethal-looking farm equipment (which is ordinary equipment that many farmers have) and in her panicked state wonders who would have such dangerous things in their barn, as though they were serial killers or something. Bill's "I don't think so!" just means they're not hiding in the barn where they could get impaled or decapitated at any second.
Question: Does anyone know when DVDs of this are coming out in the UK and/or USA?
Chosen answer: There has been no mention from Disney (Studio who makes Scrubs) when the first season is to hit DVD shelves. Zach Braff's website had put the release as early 2005 but many believe it will be released in the US around Spring 2005 (I believe that would make it around May or June).
Question: The request "Fire for effect." is used in this and many other war films when calling in artillery support. What is the meaning of this term?
Answer: After a series of individual rounds are fired to insure that the artillery is on target, the entire battery then fires as many rounds as possible to have the greatest effect on the enemy.
Question: Aunt May's speech to Peter at the end of the film suggests she's figured him out. The look he gives her back (I think) suggests he knows she knows and is cool about it. Am I right?
Answer: Without reading the minds of the scriptwriters, no way to tell. Certainly one interpretation of their conversation is that she knows, or, at the very least, that she strongly suspects. Given that she knows Peter better than anyone and that she's now encountered Spider-Man up close, it's not unreasonable to think that she could have noticed something and put two and two together - Peter certainly doesn't seem to make any attempt to disguise his voice when he speaks to her.
Question: Why does the first Dementor we see on the train focus specifically on Harry, and attack him? It seems a bit off for a "prison guard", looking for an escaped prisoner, to go after an innocent child.
Answer: Dementors are drawn to unhappy memories, bad emotions and so so - Harry's got more of those than just about anybody else on the train, which would draw the Dementors to him. It's also not really the case that Harry was really attacked as such - the presence of the Dementor would have brought bad memories to the fore for all those present. Harry having worse memories than the others, he was simply affected to a much greater degree.
Answer: Probably, yes. From dialogue, Ferris is about to graduate, and he and Jean seem to be at the same school, so either she's actually the younger of the two (which seems unlikely - would parents give the younger child a car but not the older?) or they're in the same school year. On the assumption that they're in the same year, the most likely scenario is that, yes, they're twins. The only other possibility is that they were born less than a year apart (putting them in the same school year), with Jean probably being the older of the two.
Or Ferris had repeated a year of school sometime in the past and Jeanie had caught up. The gifted car vs computer is a key point of resentment for Ferris throughout the movie, suggesting that Ferris may not have been trusted with a car, and got the computer instead.
Answer: Twins (even fraternal twins) are usually much closer in temperament to each other. Jean, on the other hand, seems very uptight and even envious of Ferris. Could be that Jean is an adopted child, same age as Ferris. There is typically some friction with adopted kids.
Question: When the monster exits the door and says, "She got this close to me." you could hear rock music, but the kid was noted as being six years old. What kind of six-year kid would play rock music, especially in the middle of the night?
Answer: It's supposed to show how much the children are changing. They used to be sweet and innocent, and easily scared. Now they're a lot harder to scare, thanks to violent TV, rock music, video games etc... Plus it's not too big of a stretch to imagine a six year old kid playing rock music, and it doesn't have to be in the middle of the night. The practice run near the beginning of the film shows that the monsters can enter the room under a minute after the child is put to bed.
Question: In the Extended Edition, who are the Seven Kings that Saruman mentions during the parley? The only thing I can think of is the Seven Lords of the West, but I'm not sure.
Answer: There's no group specifically referred to as the Seven Kings in Tolkien's works - your surmise that this refers to the seven male members of the Valar, the fourteen Powers of the world, may well be correct. The only other possibility that leaps to mind is that Saruman could be referring to the leaders of the seven dwarven clans.
