Question: Were they able to get ANY character from Hannah-Barbara? I am fully aware of the "discovery" logic of toons existing in that world before their official "premiere", so it seems possible. Was there a licensing difficulty?

dizzyd

Chosen answer: Likely, after all the negotiation in getting Disney and Warner Brothers toons into the same film (characters from both studios were required to have the same amount of screen time and the same number of lines, etc.) the producers decided not to push their luck and try to incorporate Hanna-Barbera as well. Also, Hanna-Barbera won't exist for 20 years until after the time of the film. Yogi Bear is a cub right now, and Fred Flintstone is washing dishes in a Hollywood Diner, so maybe we just didn't see them.

Captain Defenestrator

Question: What does Anakin means when he tells to Padme that if it not were for the kidnapping of Palpatine, they would be separated "for a lifetime"? He also says that "they" wouldn't have brought them back from the outer rim sieges, who are they and how does the Chancellor's situation affects theirs?

ricardoglez22

Chosen answer: Palpatine had his eye on Anakin as an apprentice since after the Battle of Naboo. The kidnapping and rescue provided a legitimate justification for Palpatine to request that Anakin be kept close at hand as a "personal favorite Jedi" rather than being sent to the Outer Rim to fight the Separatists, which could have kept him away from Palpatine's influence for years.

Captain Defenestrator

Answer: It was the same test that he gave Luke in "Return of the Jedi." Strike down an unarmed, unresisting man, and he's got The Right Stuff to be a Sith. Luke failed the test by refusing to kill him. Anakin did not.

Question: If Sifo Dyas was really the one that ordered the clone army, why would Obi Wan and possibly other people think he died before?

ricardoglez22

Chosen answer: Because he had. Sifo-Dyas was a Jedi Master with the power of foresight who'd foreseen a galactic war breaking out and secretly ordered production of the clone army 10 years before the events of the film. Count Dooku had him killed and finished the job, posing as his representative. Despite the similar-sounding names, Sifo-Dyas and Darth Sidious are not the same person.

Captain Defenestrator

Question: After the clones were discovered, Palpatine used the Separatist-Republic tension as a excuse to take control of them, but was the Separatist movement real? He could've faked it from the beginning just to take the clones out himself knowing that he would have power because of the senate. Or was the movement real at first, and he later used it to take control of the clones? The attempt on Padmé's life (which caused the Kamino reveal) besides being the price that the Viceroy requested to enter the Separatists I suppose, was to provoke the war, what do they achieve then, if they didn't know the clones would be discovered?

ricardoglez22

Chosen answer: Palpatine was playing both sides. As Sidious he was controlling and helping the separatists (which sprung from the actions of the trade federation) and as Palpatine he was defending the Republic. Both sides did not know they were being played and both sides thought their cause was "real".

Question: How many Death Stars have there been?

Answer: In the official canon, just the two we've seen in the original trilogy - in Star Wars and Return of the Jedi.

Jon Sandys

Answer: Three if you count Starkiller Base.

Starkiller base was a planet, and much bigger. It does not count as a death star.

Question: Why did the whole concept of "Midichlorians" introduced in this film anger so many Star Wars fans? I'm not a huge Star Wars fan myself, but I've heard nothing but hate for them.

Dra9onBorn117

Chosen answer: Because it took a magical, mystical, and mysterious concept and reduced it to a blood-borne chemical.

Chosen answer: One of his character traits as the Joker is his hunched posture. He's not standing fully upright.

Question: 3 questions: Was the planet Krennic goes to to talk to Vader supposed to be Mustafar? If so, why would Vader want to go there of all places? Lastly, what was the reason Krennic went to visit Vader?

Answer: Yes, Pablo Hidalgo from the Lucasfilm Story Group confirmed Vader's palace was on Mustafar. Gary Whitta who wrote the story, suggested that he lived there because "he wants to punish himself" for turning to the dark side. Krennic visits Vader because he wants him to arrange a personal audience with the Emperor and cut Tarkin out of the equation.

Question: I have 3 questions. 1. How come Katniss wanted Mags as an ally? 2. Why didn't she want Finnick as an ally? 3. Plutarch said half the tributes were in on getting Katniss out of the quarter quell. Is it known what tributes were in on it?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: 1, She chose Mags because she liked her and wanted to protect her as much as possible. 2. Katniss didn't trust Finnick. She didn't know he was one of her allies. 3. Not all of the Tributes who are allies are named.

Question: In what episode was Ella born? I remember Cordway being pregnant and then I remember them talking about sleepless nights because of the baby but I Don't remember seeing anything about labor.

Answer: It's season 7's "Sailing Away", but we don't actually see Corday in the delivery room. We see Mark blasting the song "Sailing Away" so he doesn't hear Corday calling to him about her contractions, but after their hospital visit it turned out to only be Braxton Hicks. Later in the episode they show up at the hospital again when Corday is "ready to pop", and next we see Mark carrying Ella (after her 'newborn screening') bringing her to Corday, who then nurses Ella for the first time.

Super Grover

Answer: I believe Alex Kingston was actually pregnant during this storyline too, perhaps didn't want to act and give birth all in a short space?

Question: In Obi-Wan's home, he explains that Luke's father wanted Luke to have his lightsaber when he was old enough. But in "Revenge of the Sith", in Anakin's (Vader's) last fight with Obi-wan, Anakin's legs and right arm were severed and his saber was lost. So how could he give it to Obi-Wan to give to his unborn son if it was lost and Vader left for dead?

Movie Nut

Chosen answer: Anakin's Lightsaber was never lost. When Obi-Wan cut Anakin down (when Anakin jumped at him), Anakin's lightsaber falls to the ground next to Obi-Wan and when Obi-Wan leaves, we see him pick it up.

Bishop73

And as far as "your father wanted you to have this", it's a lie. Remember that Obi-wan is spinning a yarn to Luke about his father to keep from revealing that his father is Darth Vader.

Well, he might have wanted him to have it, "from a certain point of view."

Room Service - S5-E15

Question: When Niles and Lilith wake up in the hotel room, what does Niles mean when he says that this happens every day in Arkansas?

Answer: When Frasier and Lilith got married, Lilith became Niles' sister-in-law. Even though they're divorced and she's now his ex-sister-in-law, it was just a joke about the stereotype that in Arkansas, brothers and sisters sleep together. One could also interpret it as in Arkansas, guys sleep with their brother's ex-wives, but that's not a stereotype associated with the South.

Bishop73

Question: How much time is it from 12 midnight to the twelfth stroke of midnight? Because in the movie it seemed to go over way longer than 12 seconds.

James Brown

Chosen answer: Clocks vary, but it's not always 1-second per stroke. Some clocks can take up to a minute to fully strike 12.

Question: Spencer wasn't bitten. He died by knifing, but he turned into a walker. I thought you had to be bitten?

Answer: In the season 2 finale we find out that everyone is infected therefore you turn no matter what happens to you (which proves that Dr Jenner was right, we see it happen when Rick stabs Shane).

Answer: It's been established that everyone is infected with the zombie virus, albeit in a dormant state, so that when anyone dies, by whatever means, the virus turns the dead into zombies (walkers). Being bitten or scratched injects live viruses into the system that quickly turns a living person into a zombie, without having to die first.

It's Hard to Say Goodbye If You Won't Leave - S3-E10

Question: In this episode, Frasier is portrayed as being allergic to cats, and cannot be close to Kate's cat. What about the times when he had sex with Kate (at the radio station building, in the elevator in his building, etc.)? As a cat-owner, shouldn't her clothes have set off his allergies before?

Answer: Not necessarily. Cat allergies aren't caused by the cat's fur (so if she has cat fur on her clothes, it wouldn't actually bother his allergies). It's the cat's dander (dry skin flakes), saliva, and/or urine that people are allergic to, so if her clothes don't have traces of any of that, he would be fine. For example, she could have clothes at work she changes into, or simply keeps her clothes in a room the cat isn't around.

Bishop73

Answer: But this is complicated by the episode where Frasier cat sits for a friend.

If there is an episode where he cat sits, it may be worthy of a character mistake entry. Although, only if we see him come in contact with the cat somehow without his allergies acting up. Otherwise someone may submit a correction, such as just because he's allergic to cats doesn't mean he won't do a favor for someone and just deal with his allergies, etc.

Bishop73

Chosen answer: Blown tires are common in NASCAR and usually the result of exactly what McQueen did, run too long, too fast, on old tires. They show him not taking new tires during the yellow caution, and then all the green pit stops, he only took gas. Excess heat from high speed driving can increase a tire's pressure, and with "old" tires, it couldn't handle the stress.

Bishop73

Absolutely incorrect. Tyres bursting in NASCAR is an absolute rarity, and it is usually caused by vehicle to vehicle contact. You cannot get a race tyre so hot that it bursts unless you start at ridiculously high pressures, which would make car impossible to drive anyway. The tyre probably had a puncture from running over debris.

stiiggy

That's why I used the word blown and not bursts. Obviously the film exaggerated a blown tire, but I thought that would be obvious to the viewer where everything is exaggerated.

Bishop73

Answer: He could have looked up her address in the phone book. Just before Bruce arrives at Vikki's apartment, Joker asks Bob the Goon for - a phone book. Also he could have been tailing Bruce and found her apartment that way, after all he does show up not long after Bruce does.

Alan Keddie

Chosen answer: She's a semi-famous reporter/photographer. It would be fairly easy (especially for a criminal) to find her home.

Chosen answer: He says "you will pay the price..." meaning Luke will die for not seeing that the dark side is more powerful, and choosing not to join him.

Question: I'm curious as to why Will and Elizabeth didn't both stab the heart at the same time. Wouldn't they then be able to captain the Flying Dutchman together and not have to deal with the whole 10 year separation? And if Davy Jones is able to stand ashore in a bucket of seawater for the parley, why couldn't Will Turner do the same once he became captain of The Flying Dutchman?

sierracimarron

Chosen answer: A ship has only one captain and only one person can be the captain of the Flying Dutchman. Will became that person. Davy Jones may have been able to stand onshore while in a bucket of seawater, but by having left the netherworld for the living one, he'd abandoned his purpose in ferrying souls lost at sea. From then on, he was corrupted and became a monster. Will could not re-enter the living world during that ten-year period, otherwise, the same fate would have befallen him and the crew.

Question: How does Edith know Richie puts little curlers in his hair because his hair is naturally straight?

kh1616

Chosen answer: Because his hair looks comically unnatural. The only way to achieve the look is to use curlers.
