Question: What kind of pool table (let alone pool game) was Candie's bodyguard playing? It was smaller. Also, why was Sheba treated differently compared to Rocco and Coco?
Answer: It's a regular billiards table with rounded edges.
Answer: Sheba was sleeping with Calvin Candie. She was his mistress.
Question: Towards the end of the film, Heather steals the Seal from inside of Leonard, and we see him burn up. But the shot goes noticeably out of focus when this happens. What gives? The scene appears to be CG, so it makes no sense for it to go so badly out of focus. Were they just trying to cover up a dodgy effect?
Answer: I believe your theory is correct, it appears to go out of focus to help cover up some unconvincing CGI. The final explosion looks very cartoonish.
Question: I am trying to remember the episode that ended with Frank and Jaime fishing on the pier. A police officer says to Frank it's no smoking before he realises he's talking to the commissioner. I didn't get at the time why Frank seems so blase about the law and want to re watch to see if its any clearer to me now but can't remember the season or even what the rest of the episode was about.
Answer: It's in S2xE1 "Mercy" at the very end of the episode, they're at Valentino Pier in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Question: When Gilleese sees the brake hoses are disconnected, why doesn't he just connect them there and then?
Answer: For intra-yard movements the automatic air brakes are supposed to be disconnected. The independent brake is what Dewey applied and is what is shown slipping out moments after he exits the train.
Question: Why was Sorrento's avatar's eyes glowing yellow when he first sees Irock then turn blue after he sighs? Was this a reference to Superman's heat vision? I don't get it. Does his Clark Kent looking avatar have those powers?
Answer: Sorrento's avatar's eyes are an indication of his mood. Blue is calm, but they flare yellow or orange the more agitated, upset, alarmed or angry he is. They only go completely red once - just before he sets off the Cataclyst.
Answer: Ironically, in a movie full of pop culture references in nearly every scene, this particular thing does not seem to be a direct reference to anything in particular. If this was supposed to be an indication of Superman's heat vision the color of the eyes would most certainly have been red, the color that is almost universally used for Superman's heat vision. The eyes seem to be yellow while Sorrento is in shadow and blue when he is not. Either that or the eyes just change color at random for no apparent reason other than Sorrento thinks it looks cool.
Question: Does anybody know where the opening scene with the 'cowboy' is set? Definitely not in Moscow.
Answer: The scene with the "cowboy" is set in Russia. Bettina Peterson, the artist in Texas ships something (presumed by some to be divorce papers) to a man also named Peterson in Russia. If you pay attention the sign at the ranch has both Bettina and her husband's name on it at the beginning of the film but by the end the husband's name has been removed. What her husband was doing in Russia is never explained. In addition to the FedEx driver speaking Russian to himself, if you listen closely you can hear passersby speaking Russian as well.
Question: Why did Christine sing the first verse of the Phantom of the Opera on her way to her father's grave?
Question: Did any of the human characters in this movie appear in any episode of the Barney franchise before or after the film was released?
Answer: None of the human characters have appeared in any other Barney production.
Question: Is Mike's dream where he says "But you are a princess and I am a stable-boy" a nod to "The Princess Bride", which has essentially that plot with a cameo by Billy Crystal?
Answer: Yes, the line "Mmm, I know, you're a princess and I'm just a stable boy..." is absolutely a nod to The Princess Bride. Though Billy's role, with all his genius improvised ad-libbing, is quite a bit more than a cameo.
Question: When BTTF Part II was originally released in theaters, was the trailer for Part III part of the original released film, or was the trailer added in later when it was released on VHS like they did with "The be continued..." when Part I was released on VHS?
Answer: It was part of the original theatrical release, because production of Part III was already finished, and the final film was released only six months after Part II. The trailer was included to give audiences a teaser and keep their interest piqued.
Question: Wouldn't Elsa suffer from cabin fever, and go crazy if her parents isolated her for as long as they did?
Answer: Who says she didn't? She's obviously very uncomfortable around other people during the coronation and ball.
The Sibling Realignment - S11-E23
Question: Why did Mary say that she'll only be at Sheldon's wedding if he invites his older brother Georgie, if she's on bad terms with him? Is this because she loves him deep down even if she calls him an idiot?
Answer: Weddings are a family affair and Mary doesn't want Sheldon's stubbornness about his brother to interfere with family.
Question: Ted's friend Dom knows a guy who can find Mary for him. Later on it's revealed that Dom is also Woogie, Mary's old boyfriend who got weird on her and is still obsessed with her. However, if Dom knew Healy could find Mary why didn't he use him himself to find Mary and stalk her again?
Question: If the entire movie was the depiction of the ingenious and elaborate planning of Keyser Soze to kill the one man who could positively identify him, then what was the point of this movie? I mean now everyone knows what he looks like since they have his sketch.
Answer: The point of the movie is entertainment, and the twist ending provides that. Within the movie, Soze doesn't care that everyone will know what he looks like any more.
Question: Is there any reason besides plot convenience that the Deetzes didn't enter the attic during the three months that the Maitlands were away from the house to meet with Juno? I realise they don't have the key, but seeing as how they were renovating the entire house anyway, it seems like they would have had no problem just knocking the door down.
Answer: No reason was given, but they probably felt no immediate need to enter the attic. I've never been in my own house's attic. As you pointed out, it's really a matter of plot convenience.
Answer: After the dinner scene when Otho asked where they hid and Lydia said "the attic" Charles replied that the attic was locked. So it seems like she never told them she had the skeleton key.
I addressed this in the question. A key is not required to get into the attic because they could just break the door down.
Except they didn't break the door down. Delia kept banging on the door until it opened. If they had broken the door down, there would have been some damage.
Answer: This is purely for convenience. It's always bothered me. Like since the early 90s when I first had a VHS copy to rewind. That whole house has been gutted and rebuilt but no-one got in to the attic for 3 months? That's BS. For one thing not only would someone like Charles Deets want to see every square inch of his property, but a major company/contractor doing a remodel of that size would have at some time needed access to and been on every square foot of that house.
Quite often, people don't think about the attic along with the rest of the house. Many of them won't be going into the attic every day, not every month, maybe not more than once a year.
Question: Why are they all so shocked that Kevin called Frank a cheapskate? He is. He also just practically admitted that he's not paying for this trip?
Answer: Not only was it disrespectful toward his uncle, when a kid Kevin's age says something like that, it is often attributed to overhearing and repeating what adults said. The implication is that Frank would now know what his adult relatives thought of him. They are shocked partly because they are embarrassed and feel guilty.
Question: At the opening of the film, Muldoon and the JP workers are loading a raptor into a pen. I've always wondered, was this raptor bred on Isla Sorna, and brought over? Or did this one escape from the pen, and had to be brought back? Was this the intelligent female raptor Muldoon warned Grant about?
Answer: Yes this Raptor was bred on Isla Sorna and brought to the pen. They hadn't escaped before or he would have told them. Its most likely this is the female raptor that Muldoon warned about. Although it's also possible this raptor was actually shot like Muldoon ordered.
Question: Early on we see the crooks put wet cash in a microwave, presumably to dry it. Would that work? I just assume you'd end up with hot wet cash - I would have thought an oven or hairdryer or something would be a better bet.
Answer: Considering how microwave ovens work, it seems it would. Microwaves work by bombarding whatever is inside with actual 'microwaves' which works to excite the water molecules within. Paper, and in the case of cash, cotton, wouldn't be affected on its own but the water inside would be. Ever had something wrapped in a paper towel when you microwave it? The cash is not metal, and the water content is what gets heated up inside and evaporated, so I believe it would work.
Answer: There are videos of people drying money in microwaves, but it was a single layer of bills. But it can be tricky because, like wet clothes, it can catch on fire in the microwave if let in too long.
Question: When the humans are escorted back to their ships at the end, why are there Navi wearing human clothing? (Like those are some big shoes) and why are the guns that the Navi are holding so gigantic? Aren't these guns for humans?
Answer: Those are actually other Avatars being controlled by their human drivers hence the human clothes and military weapons. This was shown in a deleted scene when those in the Avatar program get into their linking pods and start helping the Na'vi.
Answer: The clothing is likely for modesty around humans or as a respectful thing for them. Since most of the Navi are pretty well nude and the humans are not. I could be wrong on that. Then the weapons they are carrying are the ones they picked up from the armored mechs the enemy solders were using which happen to be just the right size for the Navi.

Answer: Terry told them when they first moved in that it was only going to be temporary so that they would think that they would eventually get separate rooms, but I think they always intended to keep Ruby and Rhett together in the same room so that they could easily monitor their movements. The only reason they quickly knocked up a second room (for Ruby) for when the social worker came, was to carry on the charade of being responsible guardians for them, and they knew if the social worker saw that a teenage girl and her younger brother were sharing, it would raise red flags, and they needed everyone to believe that they were responsible enough guardians, so that they could keep the kids and eventually get their hands on the trust.
