Revealing mistake: In this scene, all the SWAT cops have the same type of rifle, except for the guy that gets his melted by Nuclear Man, which is a thick rubbery prop.

Continuity mistake: When Krypton is exploding, Superman's mother looses her balance and falls backwards. In a new angle a frame later she is up-straight loosing balance again.

Continuity mistake: At the acid storage room, while the chemist says that the temperature can't rise to much you can see the needle on the background way to the right revealing it's hot. But the next shots of the needle show it on the very left first and rising on the second.

Continuity mistake: In Lex Luthor's lair, the bottles to the left of the TV broadcasting the news disappear in the following shot.

Continuity mistake: During the credits, a red and white pole with a light on top appears to the right of the crashed green car.

Continuity mistake: When the penguins are on the floor, a wide shot shows a man picking two of them, each with each hand. The close-up shows his hands empty.

Continuity mistake: When the green car crashes, it leaves a lot of rubble in front of it. In the wide shot, the street is clean.

Continuity mistake: The toy penguin that catches fire is already burned and damaged, when it's supposed to come brand new from the seller's stall.

Continuity mistake: When Superman extinguishes the flame on the toy penguin, it looks brand new, as opposed to the worn out look it had a couple seconds before.

Continuity mistake: On the Grand Canyon, when Gus is about to get on the donkey, the first shot shows him several meters ahead of Vera. The next aerial angle shows him very close and parallel to her.

Continuity mistake: A thief comes out of the Century Savings Bank, but the money bag he holds reads Metropolis Bank.

Continuity mistake: From the inside, the sign on Archibald Data Processing has a square thing on top of the first and last letters. From the outside it doesn't.

Continuity mistake: In the extended version, when Superman talks with his father in the Fortress of Solitude about being a hero, one shot shows the crystals reaching up to Superman's waist. In the next shot they are at ankle level.

Continuity mistake: When Superman arrives at the dam, after chunks of concrete have exploded everywhere seconds before, there is barely nothing broken, except for some cracks on the wall.

Continuity mistake: When the train is about to derail, we see a bunch of goats and donkeys under the bridge, with a kid dressed in jeans and a blue shirt, and a bearded man with a white jacket. When the shot changes, the man is wearing the kids' clothes and the boy has vanished.
