Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: Throughout the film the ladies are shown with immaculate make-up. No respectable ladies wore make-up then - it was mainly used by prostitutes.

Correction: This is not true. In a publication by the Daily Mirror in 1910, it was made publicly knowledgeable that cosmetics were for literate classes to wear. With this publication, cosmetics become a lot more common among the wealthy. Therefore, to say that the ladies would not be wearing makeup is absurd. Titanic sailed almost 2 years after this publication. By then, makeup would have been readily available.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Rose is looking at Jack on the bow of the ship, you can see a tiny bit of desert behind him. (01:19:25)

Correction: What you are seeing is cloud formations tinted gold from the setting sun. Not a desert.

Ssiscool

Indeed. So funny to post a "mistake" like that. They shot it all inside a studio, nowhere near any desert. Why would there be a desert?

lionhead

They quite famously built a full-scale replica of the Titanic at the Fox Baja Studios in Rosarito, Mexico, and a lot of shots were on that replica. Rosarito isn't exactly a desert but it's not lush and verdant either. The cloud formations were real clouds, outside.

It was only about 60% of the ship that built for the film.

Corrected entry: The steel deck fittings at the bow of the ship change shape. During the flying sequence, the fitting nearest Rose's right foot changes from a curvy shape to a flat angled shape. (01:17:45)

Correction: The flat angled shape we see is an overhead shot. Unfortunately due to the angle it makes the curved deck fitting appear flat. But if you look closely you will see it is still in fact curved.

Corrected entry: When Jack is playing poker in the beginning of the movie with the Swedish guys and Fabrizio we can see a short shot of his cards. He then takes another card and wins by having a full house. However, there was no way to get a full house with the cards he had by just drawing one more card. (00:22:50)

Correction: What Jack has in his hands are 2 aces, 2 tens and a five. He discards the five and draws a ten. Making a full house.

lionhead

Correction: You must have missed the part where he trades two cards with Sven (the one Swedish guy) before picking up the single card. Thus, it is possible to get a full house.

Ssiscool

They didn't trade cards, even discards 1 card and Jack gives him a card off the top of the deck. They were playing 5 card draw. I don't know any form of poker that involves trading, unless 2 people are cheating.

That's the whole point of the scene - Jack and Sven are cheating.

No they are not. If you pause you can see he has the right cards. No cheating.

lionhead

The cheating comment doesn't even make sense because Sven is playing against Jack and Sven loses. Plus, you're suggesting 2 people cheated over the table in plain sight of the 2 other players. In the scene, Jack is the dealer and the deck is to his left. When he gives 2 cards, they come from the deck and he takes the 2 cards and discards them next to the deck. Jack doesn't trade his own cards with anyone. He again gives 1 card from the deck and discards the 1 card. Then he takes his 1 card (which gives him the full house. Which is kind of pointless because his 2 pair was already the best hand).

Continuity mistake: When Jack is teaching Rose how to spit, then gets caught by some ladies, he has a glob of spit on the far upper right side of his chin, then the shot switches and it is now on bottom middle and a little to the left of his chin. (00:52:25)

Corrected entry: When old Rose is seen at home, she has a brown dog. When she gets off the helicopter it's a white dog. (00:10:20)

Correction: When the dog is seen at home, it has a white chest and darker back. When the dog is seen on the ship we only see its front which is white.

Titanic (1997)

Continuity mistake: After Cal throws Rose's cigarette away, she lowers her hand. Then there's a very brief angle on Molly Brown where Rose is lowering her hand again up to a point where it disappears offscreen. Then a millisecond later it cuts back to Rose and her hand is magically raised and still, no sign of her lowering it, and shortly after she lowers it while Cal extinguishes the cigarette and she places her index finger on the holder. Close-up on Rose and her fingers are in the previous position and she is extending her index finger again to hide the holder. So there's actually 2 mistakes in a lapse of 3 seconds. (00:32:10)

Corrected entry: In the early scene where Jack wins the tickets for the voyage, his hand-rolled cigarette is thin and almost done just before he shows his hand. About five seconds later, the cigarette is fatter and longer. (00:23:55)

Correction: Not true. The length and thickness remains the same.

Black Hawk Down (2001)

Factual error: In the movie the first Black Hawk helicopter (Super 6-1) gets shot down and just so happens to crash in a large four-way intersection. In the actual battle, Super 6-1 crashed in a narrow alleyway. (00:49:45)

Corrected entry: When Chalk 4 are walking up to the crash and about 50 Somalians are walking parallel east of them and they get shot at with a RPG, the wall that gets hit has no mark on it. (00:55:32)

Corrected entry: When Dom wears his cross necklace, it hangs low on his chest due to the long chain, When the interpreter is wearing it, it sits high on her chest as if it has a small chain. (01:14:00)

Ssiscool

Correction: Since it's not her necklace, and she knows the chain is too long, she can easily just knot or twist the chain behind her neck until it is short enough. Alternatively, there's a long time lapse between Dom and her wearing at, and she could have used one of her own, shorter, chains from home.

We are shown the chain when she has it removed from her and it's the same chain.

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Corrected entry: When Angel is jumping the fences, you can tell by the way he is jumping that he using something to spring over the fences. (00:28:50)

Ssiscool

Correction: Remember the scene from "Shaun of the Dead" where Shaun used a trampoline to leap over the fence? Angel could have used a trampoline on the third one, where he visibly springs on something in what could possibly be a children's backyard on a mini-trampoline, but we never see what he leaps on. The first two jumps have no indication of aid.

There is a clear indication of aid on the first two as well. The third one is obvious he uses a trampoline.

As the troops rally to evacuate the injured man, another soldier lays down some suppressing fire. Look in the lower left corner of the screen. Black Hawk Down (2001)

Continuity mistake: When the soldiers first go into the town in the helicopters, one of the helicopters lands on a roof. The camera cuts away for a split second, but when it comes back to the helicopter that landed on the roof, the blades have stopped moving completely within that one second. (00:41:01)

Suggested correction: Two problems with this mistake. First off, as the little bird is only dropping 4 guys off, then going to its holding pattern, there is no way the pilot would turn the rotors off. Secondly, the blades are out of shot of the camera so you can't confirm if they did stop.
