Continuity mistake: In the Thanksgiving scene where they are waiting for Peter to arrive, Peter swings onto the side of the building and drops down onto the balcony of his bedroom. To soften the drop onto the balcony, he bends his knees. When he unbends them and takes off his mask (the next shot) he is in the center of his bedroom, not on the balcony where he landed in the shot previous. (01:25:50)

Visible crew/equipment: At Thanksgiving dinner, when Aunt May looks outside when she sees something, the reflection on her glasses shows what appears to be a green screen. (01:26:00)

Factual error: In the scene where Peter is clinging to the ceiling of his room with Normand Osborne looking for him, a drop of Peter's blood falls to the floor. It should simply splatter outward, but we see it "splash" upwards as if it was a bucket of blood hitting water. (01:26:35)

Rosco

Continuity mistake: Close to the end of the film when the Green Goblin bursts in the window of Aunt May's house, in one shot you can see she is leaning by the side of the bed, and in all other shots she has her head on the bed. (01:27:05)

The-Immortal

Other mistake: The scene in the hospital is supposed to take place in winter, since it's after Thanksgiving, but the trees visible outside the window are in bloom. (01:32:25)

Other mistake: When the tram with all the kids is falling, the kids are yelling. But the adult behind them isn't yelling and looks rather bored. (01:38:10)

Continuity mistake: During the bridge scene the wire supporting the tram/cable car was obviously anchored on the other end when the Green Goblin was holding it, because the car's suspended on a near horizontal line, with the regular support at one end and the Goblin on the other. All well and good, and even after Spider-Man grabs Mary Jane we see the car drop with the wire still looped through the pulley, both ends visible. In the next shot from above though, the other end of the wire's disappeared, and the car's now just hanging off a single cable which is attached to the top of the car. How'd that happen? (01:38:25)

Other mistake: When the cable car is dropping and swinging around, the occupants of the cable car remain standing in the same position. They should have been thrown to the floor when the initial drop was halted, and should have been tossed from side to side in the car as it swung around. (01:38:30)

Spider-Man mistake picture

Continuity mistake: In the scene just before the final fight between the Goblin and Spider-Man, Spider-Man gets knocked through a wall and rolls right up against another wall, but when the bomb flies in as he's getting to his feet, he's suddenly in a much more open area with no wall anywhere near him. (01:40:55)

Factual error: During the bridge scene, when the Green Goblin first holds Mary Jane by her throat, his left thumb is visible. All further shots show no thumb under Mary Jane's chin. Actually, the left hand then seems to be holding Mary Jane by her right shoulder. Even when Mary Jane, who is not a super-human, is held by her throat, she is able to move her head, look down and scream. (01:41:21)

Continuity mistake: In the final battle scene, Goblin's costume alternates between clean (green) and dirty (white/dusty) throughout the scene. (01:41:30)

Audio problem: When Goblin is on the bridge with Mary Jane and the cable car, Spider-Man screams, "Don't do it Goblin!" but there is clearly no mouth movement whatsoever under the mask. (01:42:05)

Continuity mistake: At the end when Spider-Man dumps the brick wall on the Green Goblin, the wall is still in one piece after it's landed in the long shot, but when the angle changes, the wall's almost destroyed, and the Goblin pushes his hand up through rubble. (01:42:55)

Revealing mistake: In the final punch-up, shortly before Osborn reveals himself, Peter pulls the Goblin to his feet and pushes him against a large foot/foot and a half thick brick wall, which wobbles. (01:43:20)

Jon Sandys

Other mistake: There is no way possible that MJ, would have been able to fall from the height that she fell from while being knocked from Spider-Man's grasp onto the edge of that cable car during the bridge scene. It's hard enough to believe that she would be able to withstand the force of being knocked around in circles while holding onto a web, let alone landing directly onto the edge of a cable car. (01:44:00)

Rollin Garcia Jr

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film when we see Norman Osborn offer Peter his hand, if you watch he offers his hand twice. (01:44:20)

The-Immortal

Factual error: When Spider-Man is hanging under the bridge holding the cable car and the Goblin charges at him the final time, he gets hit on the head by a gas can presumably thrown by one of the motorists watching from the bridge. However, for the can to have hit when and where it did, it would have had to curve out and around a four foot railing and some ten feet of concrete and steel before making its way underneath the bridge and some distance in to strike the Goblin. Not only was this an incredible curve ball that was precisely aimed at a target not directly visible by the person who threw it, but it still managed to impact with enough force to knock the Goblin off course. (01:44:27)

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film just before Norman Osborn's glider zooms in and kills Norman, Norman is standing right by the hole in the wall, yet when the glider hits him, he has moved quite some distance to his left and is now at a large part of the wall. (01:44:40)

The-Immortal

Mary Jane: Who are you?
Spider-Man: You know who I am.
Mary Jane: I do?
Spider-Man: Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
