Revealing mistake: While Mary Frances and Jim-Bob are flying the Cody kite with Sister Scolastica there's an overhead shot from behind the kite, and the lower string goes off toward the right even though the teens are to the left, and the kite is also being held up by a wire at the top which leads off screen. Trivia: While Maggie MacKenzie and John-Boy are at the Mermaid Restaurant, when they both dance together Maggie envisions her long deceased husband, Michael MacKenzie, dancing with her instead of John-Boy. It is Earl Hamner Jr. who portrays Michael MacKenzie in this uncredited onscreen cameo during the scene (note teeth and facial features are identical).
