Firehouse Quintet - S6-E18

Revealing mistake: At World Picture Corp, when John and the guy with the broken clavicle are lowered from the overhead joists they're both wearing lifebelts buckled around their waists. The problem is that once they reach the ground, we can see the additional carabiner attached to John's lifebelt, which is also attached to extra green support protruding from under John's shirt. We can also see the victim's additional carabiner going under his flannel shirt. While Roy is on the line with Rampart, when John removes the victim's lifebelt, the extra carabiner is still protruding from under the victim's shirt and John places his hand over it. (00:27:00)

Revealing mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the gas explosion at the cafeteria, during the actual rescue the four firemen we see in closeup in the cafeteria are supposed to be Roy, Johnny, Chet, and Marco, but it's really odd that all are the doubles, very obvious in the closeups. There's little dialogue during this scene, which was dubbed later in ADR.

Revealing mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to a man trapped at World Picture Corp, just as they reach the entrance to World Picture Corp, the Sheraton-Universal is seen on the corner, and the street sign for touring Universal Studios is visible as well. (00:19:45)

Visible crew/equipment: At World Picture Corp, after the rescue of the guy with the broken clavicle trapped up on the joists, Morton tells Roy to transport the patient as soon as possible. It cuts to a shot of Squad 51 following the ambulance to ER receiving, and as they drive through the underpass, it's from the POV of inside the squad. Some location lighting becomes visible on the right side, and the reflection of the cameraman's legs are visible on the windshield, as he's seated in the passenger seat. We know that one of the paramedics is in the ambulance, so there should only be a driver in the squad.

Continuity mistake: During the basketball game against 16, when Chet is finally in The Game at halftime, 51's side of the court is at the right of the screen, but in the closeups of Chet's shot going into the hoop - scoring, we can tell by the wall and backboard that a bunch of his baskets are actually going into the hoop on the other side of the court, behind him.

Continuity mistake: After winning the semi-finals against 16, when Chet walks into the kitchen in the closeups John's holding the newspaper filled with photos on the page facing out, but in the wideshots an entirely different page faces out. (00:45:00)

Continuity mistake: During 51's basketball game against 16, when Chet takes his first shot and makes the basket the scoreboard now shows 51's at 16 and 16's at 30, then Chet makes the second basket, but the scoreboard shows 51's still at 16 and 16's at 32.

Firehouse Quintet - S6-E18

Continuity mistake: At start of episode, when Captain Stanley walks in announcing the upcoming game against 16, the paper he's holding changes hands between shots. Then after Cap sits down, the paper again changes hands between shots. Also notice that after Chet finds Henry's bone behind him in the couch, he gives it to Henry then puts it back behind him again, then gives it to Henry once again.

Firehouse Quintet - S6-E18

Continuity mistake: When Captain Stanley is writing on the board about the practice game at 9:00 am on Thursday, the board was clean before he started writing, then the board is dirty, and by the time he walks away the board is clean around what Cap just wrote, and his handwriting and its position on the board have changed as well.

Firehouse Quintet - S6-E18

Continuity mistake: During the basketball game against 16, after the ref tell John that he can't call timeout unless they have the ball, Marco passes to Mike, who passes it to Johnny. When 16 gets the ball the blonde player with blue wristbands shoots, but in the closeup it's a brunette without wristbands who scores the basket. Plus the fact that in the closeup the basket he scores in is the one on the other side of the court, and the next few closeups of 16 scoring baskets are in the opposing team's basket, on the other side of the court.

Trainee - S2-E8

Roy: I think you're on some sort of an ego trip, Ed. And in my book that makes you a very dangerous character.
Ed: [Laughs.] Ego trip, huh? Well, I didn't realize that psychiatry was part of the paramedic's training.
Roy: Oh that's good, Ed, you be funny. But that isn't gonna change anything. You wanna know what I figure? Well, I figure when you were working in Vietnam, it was rough. So rough you started playing over your head. And you were making it, you were doing real good. Considering it was a combat situation. And pretty soon you started getting all blown up about how Ed Marlowe is just as good as the real doctors. And you've been living on that ever since. And the trouble is, Ed, you are good. Except for two little problems. You can't quit competing with real doctors. And you can't face being wrong. You see, those people we treat out there, I mean the people we work for, the people who pay for this whole operation, they're real people, Ed, with real problems. And they have a right to expect more than just being used by you for some sort of trip. [Completely exasperated.] I guess what I'm trying to say to you, Ed, is that in my book you're just plain unprofessional.
[Ed walks out.]
John: Do you think it did any good?
Roy: Do you?

The Game - S6-E1

Trivia: It's in this episode that the Heimlich Maneuver is used for the first time by the paramedics. At the USC game, when a guy is choking on a hot dog, John and Roy are called, and John uses the Heimlich. Up until season 6 we've seen the guys use other methods, such as the ChokeSaver which look like huge white tweezers, to remove obstructions in an airway, as seen in 4x9, "Foreign Trade."

The Mouse - S4-E20

Question: The old man that comes in with his wife that can't breathe, the one that the head nurse tries to counsel and tempts him with a cup of coffee. I believe he is Alfred Hitchcock, though his name is not listed anywhere. Alfred Hitchcock is known for his cameo appearances in his own shows and in other shows. Can someone confirm that this is him? This is driving me nuts... It is toward the end of the episode, but I cannot give you times.

Answer: I believe you are speaking of the old man, Mr. Wilson. He's played by J. Pat O'Malley.

Bishop73

Correct, it was J. Pat O'Malley...he also played the grandfather with his grandson when their rocket exploded, and also played "Old Bill" in the episode with Ann Prentiss, where Gage saves the little girl from the burning tree house, and her mother falls in love with him.
