Monk

Mr. Monk Joins a Cult - S6-E11

Continuity mistake: After Dr. Kroger tosses Trudy's picture to the floor, Monk drops the book he's been holding onto the mattress and kneels to retrieve the photo. In the next shot, the book has jumped to a spot on the floor beside him. (00:34:00)

Mr. Monk and the Leper - S5-E10

Continuity mistake: While Dr. Polanski talks to Monk and Natalie in his waiting room, he's gesturing with both hands held out in front of him. When the shot changes angles, he's abruptly standing with his hands clasped behind his back. Next cut, he's gesturing again. (00:05:00)

Mr. Monk and the End - Part I - S8-E15

Plot hole: When Randy tells Captain Stottlemeyer that the killer shot the train station announcer and took his jacket and ID, the microphone in the room is still active and everyone in the station hears Randy's conversation. If that's the case, then why didn't everyone in the station hear the gunshot? Even if the killer used a silencer, he would have made noise taking the announcer's jacket and changing his disguise, which would sound like a struggle over the open mic anyway, and it would make no sense to turn it on after killing the man. Mr. Monk and the End - Part II - S8-E16

Continuity mistake: When Mr. Monk is waiting at the fountain to meet Trudy's daughter Molly Evans, he is seen standing up and walking to his right and at the same time he buttons up all three buttons of his suit jacket. He then sits down again at another part of the fountain for a brief moment and stands up again. When he does so, all buttons are now unbuttoned. After this, a man and woman go past him and then Mr. Monk is seen unbuttoning the middle button.

Mr. Monk Paints His Masterpiece - S6-E14

Factual error: When Stottlemeyer and Randy are at the painter's daughter's home they find a picture showing him in front of Carson papers, which leads the Captain to say: they have a contract with the treasury, they are producing the paper for the U.S. currency. This is wrong: the treasury is not in charge of printing the Federal Reserve Notes. Rather it is the privately owned Fed that prints the Federal Reserve Notes and then lends it to the treasury at interest. And the interest added is the reason why there will never be enough money to pay the interest, i.e. the state debt.

Suggested correction: While the Federal Reserve is in charge of maintaining our currency (through the creation or destruction of currency, real or digital), the U.S. Department of Treasury is in fact responsible for printing money, through the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

Mr. Monk and the Genius - S7-E2

Plot hole: Kloster's plan of switching the headstones wouldn't have worked because cemeteries keep records of who's buried in which plot. Before exhuming the body, the records would have been checked and someone would have noticed that the name on the headstone and the name in the records didn't match. (He might have broken into the office and changed the records, but it's never brought up, so he likely didn't.)

Captain Defenestrator

Mr. Monk Makes the Playoffs - S7-E13

Continuity mistake: Just where was that evidence locker? Randy borrows a big screen TV from the evidence room and pushes it upstairs toward the ground floor office, indicating the evidence locker is in the basement. But when Natalie arrives and walks through the office, she goes up the stairs instead of down to find Randy with the TV wedged in the stairwell, indicating the evidence room is on the upper floor. The TV wedged itself tight on his way up the stairs, so he hasn't moved it in the meantime: he's in exactly the same spot with the same picture on the wall. (00:40:30)

Mr. Monk and the Three Pies - S2-E11

Continuity mistake: When Van Rankin takes the borrowed flour from his kitchen counter and hands it to Sharona, it's in a standard paper flour sack, and the counter is clean. Later, there's flour dust on the counter and the impression of a large, round flour tin - like the one in Monk's kitchen - instead of an imprint of the paper sack. (00:37:20)

Adrian Monk: I don't know how he did it. But he did it.

Mr. Monk Goes to Mexico - S2-E2

Trivia: According to co-producer Tom Scharpling, the Mexican homicide cops are purposely written as parodies of Stottlemeyer and Disher, right down to their attitudes, their ranks, their suits, and Captain Alameda's mustache. Even the bumbling lieutenant's name is a little joke on Disher. Plato means "dish" in Spanish.

More trivia for Monk

Answer: Stottlemeyer was already upset after the phone call. He was trying to get "Kevin" (who would have to be a judge, but no further character information is given) to issue a restraining order with no evidence of needing one, except that Adrian Monk said she needs one. Kevin said he would need to "sleep on it." So it's clear they've been trying to provide protection and unable to get the results they need, which seems to be based on no one trusting Monk the way Stottlemeyer does. He's just angry that they failed to protect Linda despite all their work. Although it does feel like a scene was cut, or altered, from the show that shows the futile attempts to protect Linda which built up to his outrage.

Answer: While walking upstairs in the victims house randy starts messing with his out of place tennis shoes. When he gets upstairs to monks he has on other shoes. Could have to do with the expensive rug.
