Answer: Yes. Because the symbiote knows all his secrets and weaknesses it's not only able to mimic his powers but has adapted to combat his spider-sense.

Question: How did Eddie find out about Peter and Mary Jane's relationship? He never saw them together and, when he kidnapped her, she and Peter were somewhat estranged.

Answer: The symbiote, traditionally, knows all of Peter's secrets including his identity. This is how Eddie knows who he is, as well as his relationship with Mary Jane.

Question: How did Bernard even know Peter didn't stab Norman?

Answer: Because he knew Peter was a good person, maybe knew he was Spider Man since he knew Norman was the Green Goblin.

Question: Why wouldn't Bernard have told Harry about Norman's death instantly?

Answer: He probably thought Harry wouldn't believe him and he was already upset over his death, so telling the truth would reveal Norman as having been the Green Goblin.

Answer: Sandman is a fugitive who is on the run. It is more than likely that his name has appeared in the news at some point. His daughter and her illness would likely have also been mentioned as well. Seeing as how Eddie worked at the Daily Bugle, it shouldn't have took long for him to put two and two together.

Casual Person

The symbiote (which turned Eddie into Venom) usually has its previous owner's memories. So Eddie might have known about Sandman's daughter through Peter's memories.

But Peter doesn't seem to know he had a daughter and shows surprise when he's told of her at the end.

Supposedly there is a deleted scene where Venom finds out about Sandman's daughter but it was cut for time, so it ends up creating a little bit of a plot hole in the final film.
