Continuity mistake: During Andy's daydream at the beginning of the film, Mr. Potato Head has an eye patch over his left eye. When the daydream cuts back to reality we see that Andy has removed Mr. Potato Head's left eye to symbolize the eye patch. But when Andy's mum comes in with the video camera, his left eye is suddenly back in. (00:01:15 - 00:05:25)
Continuity mistake: When Woody and Buzz are standing on top of the cabinet looking at the photo they hear the kids and mom coming, they immediately jump down from the cabinet and land on the bottom open drawer, next to blue skateboard, then on the floor and they both run to the toy chest without looking back. Two shots later, when the door opens and the kids/mom come in, you can see that the drawer is now closed. (00:11:40)
Continuity mistake: When Mom gives Molly the donation box she writes "Sunnyside" on only one side of the corrugated box. When the Sunnyside box is in the car and also when Mom carries it to the daycare, there's printed red text (name, contents, etc) under the hand hole at the adjacent side of the box, but when Bonnie's Mom carries the box into the butterfly room that printed red text has vanished (NOT the handwritten "Sunnyside"), then it reappears when the kids go to recess. (00:19:25)
Continuity mistake: When Bonnie gets the burger out of the microwave the door is left wide open. As the shot changes the door is shut. (00:34:10)
Continuity mistake: After Chuckles tells the story of Lotso we see the gang locked up at the daycare center. Jessie comforts Bullseye and looks at the word "Andy" on her boot (with the "A" on the inner side) . Woody returns and when the bell rings for the kids to go outside, we see Jessie on the floor. Notice that the "Andy" on her boot is now different (the "A" is on the outer part of her boot). (00:52:50 - 00:57:10)
Continuity mistake: When Woody and Co. accidentally configure Buzz to his Spanish setting, they remove two small screws from his back that fall onto the floor. But once Ham starts reading from the instruction manual, one of the screws that landed next to him has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Woody is escaping from the daycare for the first time, we see him in a hallway hiding behind a no running yellow stand up sign. He is also at the hallway corner because we can see two women talking down the other side of the corner. He then proceeds down the hallway a couple of steps, he then seeing the janitor coming and immediately falls very close to that sign, Then from a bird eye view scene next, woody is now in the middle off the hallways and the sign is nowhere to be found as the janitor rolls over woody where the sign should be.
Continuity mistake: Lotso throws Woody's hat in front of Jessie's box, which lands directly in front of her. In the next wide shot, the hat is still in front of her, but also to her right. The hat was not touched between shots.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the janitor goes into the bathroom to wash his hands, he originally, whilst entering the room pushing his cart complete in front of the stall, but when it cuts over to where woody sneaks into the stall, the cart is now moved to only halfway blocking the stall door.
Continuity mistake: The bin lorry disappears instantly. The road is too long for it to have driven that entire length.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Potatohead has a tortilla for a body he has his eyebrows with him, but his eyebrows can't be detachable - there's no hole in his body for them to plug into, and they're not connected to his eyes.
Continuity mistake: When the toys escape from the daycare, the paint on their bodies appear and disappear back and forth.
Continuity mistake: When the Fisher Price phone is telling Woody about the monkey, he also says the wall is eight feet tall. Security camera footage shows toys scaling the wall, almost making it to the top. When it cuts to the toys climbing, they are only about one or two feet off the ground.
Continuity mistake: When the toys are put into the boxes on the shelves, Lotso steps up on some bricks to talk. A few shots later, a truck, which was not there before, takes Lotso and the other toys away.
