The Living Daylights

Bond destroys the plane filled with opium and infiltrates Whitaker's mansion. He enters Whitaker's "playroom" and gets attacked by his advanced weaponry. Bond kills him when he places a mini-bomb onto a stauette of the Duke of Wellington which falls on him. KGB Director Pushkin captures Russian traitor Koskov and Kara has an opening for her cello act. After the show, Bond and Kara engage in pleasurable activity.

Factual error: Austria is famous for its mountains and ski resorts, but certain parts of Austria are quite flat. And the border region between Bratislava and Vienna is VERY flat. No chance to cross the border over a mountain with a ski resort like shown in the movie, unless you take a 600km detour with three more border crossings.

Trivia: After Bond returns to London (when he's completed his mission in Eastern Europe), there's an "establishing" shot of a London street scene. Look closely at the placards behind the newspaper vendor. One of the placards says "BLAZING JEEP AT 2,000 FEET" - a reference to the Jeep on fire and going over a cliff in the pre-title sequence, perhaps?

Question: What exactly happened to Koskov at the end? Pushkin said something like "Put him on a Plane in a diplomatic bag" but was he just being sarcastic or what?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: He says, "Put him on the first plane to Moscow...", making Koskov think he was going to live, but then Pushkin adds, "...in a diplomatic bag." He is being transported back to Russia in a bag...hence, he will be quite dead.
