Beverly Hills Cop III

Deliberate mistake: Twice in this film Axel is shot at by multiple gunmen using automatic weapons at close range - and they all miss. In the Earthquake theme ride the bullets ricochet of the rails at Axel's feet. Why are they all aiming low? Why don't they raise their aim? In the park outside he hides behind a perfectly ordinary park bench and the bullets hit the wooden slats. Not one goes through the open spaces between them? I know bad guys can't shoot straight in the movies, but this is ridiculous ...

Continuity mistake: Just before Axel uncovers the printing press, the woman puts the map in the oky dokey suit, not his shirt. When he gets out of the suit, he does not pick up the map piece. In the vent he pulls the map out of his pocket, but how did the map piece get from the elephant suit to his pocket without him picking the piece up?

Plot hole: Uncle Dave, the elderly owner of Wonder World, takes a bullet to the torso, yet he is able to stand at a podium to introduce the new character, while all three of the erstwhile heroes, who received arm wounds, are in wheelchairs.

Continuity mistake: When Axel is in the Wonderworld tunnels he is spotted by security and they come after him. After Cooper jumps down from the rail, Axel's gun falls to the ground. It is in the middle of the walkway. Axel gets up and runs away and another bad guy is helping Cooper up but the gun is no longer in the walkway. (00:26:20)

Continuity mistake: When Axel and Janice are looking at the blueprints of the park she rips off part of the blueprint at Axel's request. She then folds it in half with the print inside the fold then in half again. When she stuffs the folded blueprint into Axel's costume the print is suddenly on the outside of the paper when it had been folded on the inside. (00:59:45)

Revealing mistake: In the big wheel, the boy falls out and grabs Axel's leg. When it zooms out, it is a man climbing his leg.

Revealing mistake: When Axel shoots the guy on the tracks of the subway ride, you can see a little wire flip up from his leg when he falls. This is the wire that goes to the squib in the guy's shirt.

Sol Parker

Factual error: In an early scene, when Axel Foley is pursuing the bad guys' truck, he is driving a red sports car that is gradually being shot to pieces around him by the bad guys. At one point, his airbag deploys, momentarily impeding his driving. This is a prop error: It was much smaller than a real airbag, it inflated much more slowly than the real thing, and it remained inflated till he mashed it down (real airbags pop and deflate within a second).

Continuity mistake: When Rosewood shoots the second bad guy, the bad guy falls over the rail. There is no blood or evidence of a shooting on his shirt. When the camera cuts back to him there is a lot of blood and bullet holes on his shirt. (01:31:55)

luchador

Deliberate mistake: When Axel is trying to rescue the kids on the Spider ride he simply pushes open the cage door. There is no way that the door could be opened so easily. Amusement park rides have safety latches on the doors to prevent people from falling out. (00:29:10)

luchador

Continuity mistake: When Axel discovers the hidden room in Wonderworld, he decides to jump on the light and swing to the floor. When he lands you can notice some white powder located on his behind, but in the next shot when he leaves the room the white powder has vanished.

Continuity mistake: During the shootout at the chop shop the passenger door to Axel's car keeps getting shot up, then has a few bullet holes and gets shot up again. (00:06:35)

luchador

Revealing mistake: During the rescue on the big wheel, the people in the gondola behind Axel are obvious dummies, not only are they not moving in any shot but the man keeps his arm in the air pointing the wrong way the whole time.

Suggested correction: The actor does move his arm at the end when he is seen for the last time. They are real people.

Continuity mistake: After Inspector Todd is shot, Axel chases after De Wald and fires at the truck. When the guy at the back of the truck is shooting at Axel, we see multiple bullet holes near the truck's back right window, but in his close-ups the bullet holes are gone. The window frame's scratched paint differs as well in the close-ups. We know it's the same window because we also see him in the shot of the truck's interior.

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, while they are having a shoot out at the chop shop, the bad guys take the truck and rams a car out of the chop shop to make their escape. When they come out there's a car outside blocking their way. The truck goes at full speed into the right front side of the car. But when they cut to the next angel the truck hits the car on the rear left side and turns left to make their escape.

Audio problem: When Axel first reunites with Serge, Serge greets him with a kiss on each cheek. Problem is, we can hear the smooch on each cheek, but Serge is speaking at the same time, and he does not pause his speech for the smooch.

Continuity mistake: When DeWald is finishing his speech and says thank you, the camera cuts and Axel and Billy are walking with Axel clapping. In the next shot they've suddenly stopped and Axel isn't clapping.

Audio problem: When Hector Elizondo comes to the park near the end and shoots the guy in the lift, there are a lot of rides operating around him. We don't hear the rides making any noise. Anyone who has been to an amusement park knows how loud rides are.

Revealing mistake: When Axel is jumping from car to car on the spider ride, he just about falls. There is a shot looking down as some people try to help him. It's painfully obvious that it's a stunt man. He looks a lot different from Eddie Murphy.

Serge: Now, one thing's very important. At the survival boutiqua, I feel that it's my personality, that's it's my philosophy that everything must conform to the three P's, OK? Which is, protection. Prestige. And pretty. I mean, why should you look ugly if you're just trying to survive?

Trivia: The film was originally meant to take place in England, with several co-stars such as Sean Connery or John Cleese being suggested for Axel's new partner. However, this idea was dropped since it was deemed too similar to the movie "Black Rain," about an American cop who goes to Japan. "Die Hard" writer Steven E. De Souza was then hired, based on an idea he had that was pitched as "'Die Hard' in an amusement park." This became the basis for the script.

Question: What led Axel Foley to know that agent Fulbright was in on the scheme? He didn't seem to show any suspicion earlier. Was it just because Fulbright was at the park at the end? The way Foley talked made it seem like he figured it out before know Fulbright was there.

Bishop73

Answer: Just before Uncle Dave is shot earlier in the film Axel figures out that the note he was given was written on treasury mint sample paper - I believe it's at this point that Axel know Fulbright was in on it since the "matter of life and death" note was written some time before the treasury mint paper truck heist.

Answer: Axel was suspicious of Fulbright of knowing everything that was going on in Wonderland but did nothing. He said, they were investigating but Axel was the only one making any progress. Plus, to get the materials needed to make counterfeit bills they were using authentic paper and ink, something only a Treasury Agent would have access to.
