Last Action Hero

Question: Does anyone know the name of the song played in the very beginning of the movie (intro with the police cars)?

Answer: It's "What the Hell Have I?" by Alice in Chains. Megadeth's "Angry Again" is what is played for the opening credits of "Jack Slater IV."

Phaneron

Answer: It is Angry Again by Megadeth.

Answer: I've never seen a scene with Jack and Danny in the real world at a video rental store. The video rental store scene takes places in the Jack Slater movie world. Since Slater is Schwarzenegger, Schwarzenegger doesn't exist in the movie world. So the Terminator is played by Stallone, who does exist in the movie world.

Answer: It's not the real world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6PBhdM9Ftg. Danny's in Slater's world and trying to find evidence of Arnold Schwarzenegger existing, but instead finds that Stallone has taken that role in this version of reality.

Question: All of the actors in this film are actually credited as either themselves, or their character in the Jack Slater films (eg. the reporters recognise Tom Noonan as himself at the film premiere). However, the actress playing Whitney is actually called Bridgette Wilson, not Meredeth as Danny points out. Why was this?

Answer: Most likely, she was not a well-known enough actress to have name recognition like Arnold.

Question: During the sequence where Schwarzenegger plays Hamlet, one of the knights looks remarkably like Robin Williams. Who plays him?

Answer: Since there was no name in the credit for this character, we do not know. However it did not look like Robin Williams to me.

Question: Why were all the women wearing latex outfits in the movie? Is it supposed to be a futuristic society or what?

Answer: No, it's a movie world. All the women are beautiful and wear very tight clothing. There's a cartoon working for the police, all phone numbers begin with 555, guns make cars explode etc, etc. Basically, every action movie cliche you've ever seen is true here.

Grumpy Scot

Question: On IMDB it says in this film there are some INTENTIONAL continuity errors. Does anyone know any of the intentional errors, perhaps along with a timecode?

Hamster

Chosen answer: The kid points them out in the film, in order to convince Arnold's character that he inhabits movieland. Also, after Arnold's character falls into the tar pit he is able to completely wipe himself clean, an obvious intentional continuity error.

Continuity mistake: When Jack rips the door off the cab, he first breaks the top hinge and enters the cab. In the next shot when he pulls the cabbie out of the car, the door is completely off and laying on the ground. A few shots later when Jack grabs the newspaper, the door is seen hanging again. Jack Slater: Why am I wasting time with a dime-store putz like you when I could be doing something much more dangerous, like re-arranging my sock drawers?
