Trivia: After 13 years and 26 films, this is the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to receive a "rotten" rating from Rotten Tomatoes upon release. This is somewhat ironic given that there were reports that Marvel considered it the best film they had made yet, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige felt it could be a nominee for Best Picture at the Oscars, particularly as its director Chloé Zhao had recently won the Best Director Oscar for Nomadland, which also won Best Picture.
Trivia: SPOILER: According to director Chloé Zhao, the offscreen character who speaks to Dane Whitman in the post-credits scene is none other than Blade, who is played by Mahershala Ali.
Trivia: When Kingo doesn't want to leave because he's making a trilogy, he says they just got BTS to do a cameo. This is a reference to the South Korean boy band, BTS. Their song "Friends" is also featured in the next scene. The line made have been added in because there was a scene cut in Marvel's series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" where actor Danny Ramirez ad libbed the line "I wish we were all more like the boy band BTS." Fans reacted by asking Marvel to release the BTS cut scene.
Trivia: Kumail Nanjiani entered therapy after reading negative reviews for this film.
Trivia: Richard Madden and Kit Harington previously co-starred in Game of Thrones. When their respective characters of Robb Stark and Jon Snow bid farewell to each other, Robb Stark said to Jon Snow "Next time I see you, you'll be in all black." They are reunited onscreen in this film for the first time since Game of Thrones. Harington plays Dane Whitman, who in the comics is one of several men in his bloodline to go by the codename Black Knight, due to his all black armor.
