Factual error: The movie is set around 1995. But the SWAT team in the movie is wearing gear from the 2000s. (MICH-2000 helmet, modular tactical vest, M4 variant with picatinny rails and scope). Plus, in a scene when the guys are shopping for a taser (gun shop scene), some of the rifles on display are from 2000s era. AR-15 variants with variant stock, foregrip and picatinny rail. Those style of weapon system were unheard of in early 90s. Even Special Forces just adopted it by the late 90s.
Visible crew/equipment: As Sam and Rhonda have Fiona's car confiscated, when Fiona runs out shouting, "I can pay for those parking tickets!" the crew's black mat is laid out on the walkway, but in the overhead shot when she tries to run away that mat is gone. (Visible on fullscreen DVD.) (01:28:10)
Continuity mistake: When the girl gives Litwak her phone to show him there is a replacement part on eBay, her phones shows that it is connected to WiFi. Litwak doesn't set up his router until later that evening, he has only plugged it in. (00:09:41)
Suggested correction: It's possible she's either connected to wifi at another nearby business, using a public wifi signal, or using a friend's phone as a hotspot.
Factual error: Ben, Abigail and Riley arrive at the Library of Congress to take the President's Book very late at night. However the Library of Congress, despite being shown as open, consistently closes at 5 PM.
Continuity mistake: When Kate and Carly are leaving Carly's apartment building and Carly goes to hail a cab, Kate is wearing a cream cardigan over her blue and white outfit, standing by the curb holding the dog's leash. The scene cuts closer and Kate is not wearing the sweater at all. (00:31:55)
Factual error: Dexter the capuchin is in the African mammal display. Capuchins come from South America.
Visible crew/equipment: When Officer Romero and Arthur are alone in the house, handcuffed to the brass shelving unit, as she says, "Help me or I will crush you like a damn bug," a crewmember wearing glasses and a blue shirt is seen crouching on the floor, at the bottom right of the screen. (00:53:05)
Factual error: The picture of Eddie and Teddy on the road with dad, supposedly taken in 1906, shows a Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey circus poster. In 1906, the Ringling Brothers circus and the Barnum & Bailey circus were two separate circuses playing in different parts of the country. They did not combine the two shows until 1919. (00:27:00)
Continuity mistake: While Annie and Stacks are in the Stacks Mobile helicopter, Annie's seatbelt shoulder strap repeatedly changes from being over her shoulder properly to being under her arm. (01:03:00)
Continuity mistake: During the scene where Zac Efron is talking to his girlfriend for the first time in the cafe, the reflection of her in the window does not match what she is doing in the scene. (00:25:30 - 00:25:35)
Continuity mistake: When Adam Sandler reverses into the police car, he damages the Bentley he is driving at the back end. When the police chase him, the back end is not damaged at all. (00:06:35)
Revealing mistake: A quick mistake happens when Brenda and the girl crawling out of the TV get in a fight. Brenda throws the punch, the other girl falls over, and for a quick second her dress flies up too far and you can see where the makeup (that makes her look dead) on her legs end and you can see her real thigh. (00:25:15)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie during the skateboard scene with Shaggy and Scooby riding along the conveyor belt, Scooby grabs a hook and both Shaggy and Scooby jump off of the skateboard. You see the skateboard falling off the conveyor belt, but in the next scene it is on the conveyor belt and being crushed. (00:03:20)
Revealing mistake: In the soda shop, the waitress turns off the lights with her elbow because her hands are full, but she misses the light switch by 6 inches. (00:55:10)
Factual error: That is not a crocodile that attacks Sue. It more closely resembles an American alligator - the squat, rounded snout gives it away. Australian crocodiles have a much sharper, more angular snout. There are other tell-tale physical features, most notably the placement of the alligator's teeth when it closes its mouth, but that's the main one.
Suggested correction: You can tell by the shape of the snout and the ridges above the eyes that, although animatronic, it is meant to be a Marine Crocodile that is native to Australia. It doesn't resemble an American alligator, which doesn't possess those pronounced ridges. Also, freshwater crocodiles can be seen in the boat ride scene where Mick motions for Sue to lean up off the edge of the boat. They have the narrower, angular snout that you referenced.
The placement of the alligator's teeth when it closes its mouth shows that it is more like an alligator than a crocodile. In fact, the animatronic puppet is a bizarre mish-mash of physical characteristics of both crocodiles and alligators.
Continuity mistake: During Marty's drive to the bogus address, when he is done speaking with Monty, just as he says, "Wolf out!" he pulls the phone wire and the earpiece actually pops out of his ear, but in all of the following shots that earpiece is still in his ear. Since the super-glued earpiece is one of the main plot points, this is bizarre to say the least. (00:44:25)
Continuity mistake: When the house first becomes detaches from its foundation and becomes airborne, Russell is nowhere to be seen, although every angle of the house is shown, including underneath, the front porch and the back porch. He knocks on the door and tells Carl he chased a "snipe" under the porch - but he cannot be seen after liftoff and prior to knocking. The same thing happens near the end, when Dug claims to have hidden under the porch.
Continuity mistake: In the very last scene of the movie where Chris O'Donnell and Renee Zellweger are on the terrace taking their vows, Renee is holding a bouquet. In one shot it is a bouquet of pink flowers, then it changes to a bouquet of yellow flowers and keeps switching back and forth throughout the scene.
Visible crew/equipment: The cameraman is visible in the reflection of window while Holden is walking back to his car in the rain.
Continuity mistake: In the scene just before Miss Piggy and Eileen get fired from the department store, Miss Piggy is watching Kermit and Jenny hug. She then bends a metal pole in half and starts hitting a barrel with it. When she first starts hitting it, the pole she is hitting it with is very thick(much thicker than the one she bent in half), is a different colour and not bent in any way. In the next shot the pole is thinner, longer and looks like the one she originally had, but it is only bent at the top whereas Miss Piggy bent it in the middle. In the next shot of her after that, the pole is now thicker (but not as thick as the first one), is not bent and the colour has changed again. Also if you look around the area where Miss Piggy is, there is only one type of pole lying around, so where did the other two come from? (00:30:15)
