Trivia: The Godzilla parody movie that the Skulls are watching at the beginning of the episode says it is presented by Roger Shnorman. This is a reference to cult-film director Roger Corman, who himself was an executive producer on a Fantastic Four film that was made around the same time this series aired, but was deliberately never released. Trivia: Homer's songs "Shave Me" and "Margarine" are parodies of Nirvana's "Rape Me" and Bush's "Glycerine" respectively. "Weird Al" Yankovic's parody of "Shave Me" is a reference to his real-life parody of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

Trivia: This is the third film in the X-Men franchise to make reference to the villain Mr. Sinister, following X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool 2, by way of the Essex Corporation (Nathaniel Essex being Mr. Sinister's real name). The logo for the Essex Corporation is a diamond, similar to the ones Mr. Sinister has on his forehead and chest in the comics. Unfortunately, since this is the final film in the Fox X-Men franchise, Mr. Sinister himself never made a physical appearance in any of the films.

Trivia: Following Disney's acquisition of Fox, the creators of this show pitched a revival to stream on Disney+. Producer Larry Houston has said he would come out of retirement specifically to work on this. The revival - titled X-Men '97 - was announced on Disney+ Day in November of 2021 for a 2024 premiere date, with much of the surviving original cast returning.
